wrap up

Good Sunday Morning,
What a beautiful day it appears to be outside.
We had a very nice weekend so far. Friday I left school as soon as possible and rushed home. We headed out to Deltona as quickly as we could. What should have taken 2 hrs and 9 min according to MapQuest(clearly no one at MQ drives I-4), took nearly 4 hours. YIKES. We arrived at the hotel at 6:30pm and somehow managed to make it to the 7pm wedding at 6:50. Holy Cow.

We met the bride and groom at the MS Couples Retreat we attended in Feb, they are super sweet and we bonded with them fairly quickly. The young bride has MS pretty severely and was having a difficult time accepting the whole thing. Some of my + attitude rubbed off on her that weekend and she has made great strides in NOT allowing MS to define her. Physically and emotionally, she is doing SO much better.
Her family was very grateful to me and I felt like a celebrity at her small family wedding. In addition, that same weekend, I decided that my wedding dress(still hanging in my closet w/o being dry cleaned) would make this couple happy and she should get as much happiness wearing it as I did nearly 5 years ago. So, the bride was wearing "our" wedding dress Fri night.

A lovely ceremony and a FABULOUS dinner/drinks/reception at Bahama Breeze. DH and I really enjoyed ourselves.
We hit some stores(not scrapping ones although we did try for one that was out of business) and we spent some of our soon to be deposited tax check at Dockside Imports. We purchased some interesting metal wall hangings for outside by the pool and then we headed to Bass Pro Shops.

NOT my idea of a fun afternoon.......actually, at one point two hours into the stop there, it felt like torture, but that is dh's Disney World. AND, since he had EVERYTHING stolen, he was entitled to replace.............so he did some damage there and finally was smiling about fishing again.

I am actually surprised that his car is in the driveway as I thought for sure he would be out by now catch-ing up(LOL) but he is sleeping in apparently.

Good to be home and have our lil guy back. He had a great time with Aunt Sue and didn't realize we weren't there. He is so much at home at her house that he doesn't know when I should be there to pick him up after school. She took him to a hands on truck thing yesterday and even bought a disposable camera to take some pics for me. It looked like a TON of fun and Joshy was surely THRILLED .........must mark my calendar for that next year.

Okay, I need some more coffee and hope to have a productive Sunday.

Hump Day

And all is well. So far it has been a pretty good week. I haven't totally caught up on my lack of sleep for the weekend, but last night, I slept well. I like going away, but there is something to be said about sleeping in your own bed.

My kiddos had a field trip this morning so I was able to go in a bit later and just chill. Our lunch schedule was all wacky, so it really was an easy day for me. This afternoon we made classes for next year. I am keeping the majority of my kids this year and I added about 4 more. If cards don't get shuffled too too much, I should have a great class next year too. Gotta luv that.

I completed two projects this morning and although I still can't find my desk, I am happy to be creating.

Guess I had go and finish making dinner and get the "boys" fed. Enjoy your Weds. or what is left of it.
PS, dh is down another 3 lbs. That makes almost 50!! There is a whole let less of him to cuddle, but I am luvin his commitment to it. I am eating healthier too, but still have to have my coffee ice cream on shot nights.

CHOO CHOO

I arrived home about 1pm yesterday from the Choo Choo train weekend scrappy trip. I was soooo incredibly tired as I had only about 3 hours sleep the night before and I did not even close my eyes on the trip home.

I am still dragging this morning but it was so very worth it. John and Joshy met me at the train station(even though I had my own car there). Joshy was thrilled to see the train that I had arrived home on and a bit upset cause he "didn't have a ticket". But he did opt to ride home with me and told me in the car, "Mommy, I am so glad you are home cause you make my heart happy!!!!!"

I do see an Amtrak trip in this family's future. The train itself was a very cool experience. St. Augustine still a truly wonderful experience and the crop was amazing. The only thing I wish had been different was that it would have been VERY nice to have had another day!!

My back is bothering me a bit from schleping luggage. Okay that is something that I wish had been different but due to the fact that we were a "short" trip, we couldn't check any of our bags and there were 24 of us rolling suitcases and totes thru the train and down the sidewalks. Good thing we packed "light". Yeah right. What is lite for a scrapper?!

FABULOUS trip. Amazing class(not finished with mine yet), good meals, great shopping, nice hotel and MANY new friends. I would say a very successful weekend. SIGN me up for the next one!!

Hat's off to you

single parents. I give you the UTMOST credit, cause it is NOT easy. At least with my child it is not.
John has been gone for almost two days and I am BEAT. Seriously, I am usually beat even when he is here, but it is def. worse now.

Joshy has actually been pretty good. He could def. use a nap today, but he is relaxing and playing his speedster(aka LeapSter).
Not sure what we will do for dinner tonite. I had thought about taking him to Chick-Fil-A for kids night but I am not sure I am "up" for screaming kiddos. We will see.

I am going to try to get some more simple page kits done and packed tonite as I leave on Thursday for the Choo Choo scrapping weekend. I am xcited.

Hoping I survive til tom. night when Johnnie gets home. Wish me luck,

great weekend

had a truly nice weekend. the weather yesterday could NOT have been nicer. today started out blah and dreary bringing in a late cold front, but the sun is shining now and it is distinctively crisper outside.

happy to report that johnnie got a bunch done in the yard and inside the house as well. he cleaned tile floors and totally re-did joshy's playroom. it looks amazing. he is very good at stuff like that once he gets started, there is NO stopping him.

I have spent a good portion of today organizing my scrap room and planning some page kits for the crop that I am going to next weekend.

I also got to see my good friend Nancy for a little while yesterday when she was in town embossing at a local charity crop. Todd was there too and he handled Joshy being a terror just fine.

We have a very long and draining week ahead, so I am going to go and try to relax some and help dh pack as he is leaving tomorrow.
Have a wonderful Sunday.

GR-8 Day

what a great day. yesterday was AWFUL but thankfully, MUCH MUCH better today.

I scrapped more this morning-4 pages completed. I could have done more, but I actually ran out of adhesive completely. Can u imagine? A scrapper with NO adhesive? I know, pathetic.

My house is a complete and total disaster, but I scrapped, Joshy only broke one wine glass-he did NOT flood the bathroom today and only went to the thinking chair once. Life is good.

We swam at Aunt Sue's today. I still have not put one toe into my own pool. It isn't even working at this point. I can NOT wait to get my story on the news about this SHODDY pool company and what sheisters they are. UGH.

Things are already progressing with the Crop 4 Hope. I am so xcited to be going back to Sebring again. Miami Dawn has been working her tail off designing this year's flyer and they look fantastic.

Now to form committees and get moving on it all.
I am hoping to make it up late enough to watch the new episodes of Thursday night tv that I have missed so much.

Off to put some laundry away.
Have a fabulous night.

We R Home

After a long and busy weekend up in Philly. We lucked out with the weather.......it was VERY chilly for us, but it could have been a whole lot worse.

It was a difficult weekend under the circumstances, but we sure enjoyed family time, esp. on Friday up in Strasburg at the choo choo's. The entire Durning family was in choo choo paradise.

I will update more later as there is a TON of laundry to be done. The best part is, I am on Spring Break and have alllllllll week to get it done.

Spring Break has arrived

for me anyway. Since we leave tomorrow for Philly, today was my Friday. WOO HOO.

Although this trip is NOT going to be fun or even remotely pleasurable, it sure will be nice to be off for a week and then some.

We had a nice surprise baby shower at school this afternoon. We got all the new mommies pretty good. NONE of them suspected a thing. And, unless u want a baby girl, do NOT drink the water at Bay Crest this year. LOL. 3 lil girlies arriving this summer.

Dr. changed my meds once again today, so I will post and let you all know how this new one is working. I was doing okay on the last one-not feeling soooooooooooooo exhausted, but I realized late last week that all I wanted to do was cry and I did-MANY times. That is not like me, so we will keep trying.

I am 90% packed and ready to go. I will be without access to a puter as I am not hauling my monster laptop with me. I have too much other crap to carry with Joshy. So, if ya need me before Sunday, call the cell.

Until then, have a great rest of your week.
Happy Scrappin and TTFN
