So, I have managed to survive for what, three days on summer vacation!!!??? ahhhhhh, it isn't even June yet and I am ready to rip my hair outta my head. Well those of you who know, realize that would be a HUGE feat as I have enough hair for any twelve people. LOL.
Sick kid, sick husband, sick aunt and a sore throat here...........it all needs to stop. So what do you make for dinner when everyone is sick and the littlest one wont' take his medicine? Matzo ball soup, of course. Any good Jewish mother knows that. It was yummy for those of us who ate it. Joshy, not a bite. He is on a hunger strike today, but less energy to whine and throw stuff at me I guess.
So, its summer(for those of us who teach and are out of school already with NO paycheck I might add).
One question and anyone can feel free to answer it........................
WHEN DOES BIG BROTHER START????????????????????????
Tomorrow is June 1st. Around here(thanks to my step mom) we celebrate birthday MONTHS. So, bring it on.........
Off to save one tired Daddy from one looney lil boy.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I got 5 paid MS Crop reservations today?? Woo Hoo. Off to the bank I went. YEAH.

another day
About another 100+ donation requests sent out for the MS CROP FOR HOPE.
I got a response yesterday(embarrased to say not even sure which company it is from), but the girl emailing said she would happily send donations AND ironically, her aunt had JUST been diagnosed last week.
I hate that happens, but glad that I am able to just the little bit that I do.
Peanut just passed out on the couch........amazing. So I am going to actually take a shower without him trying to join me. What a treat.

10 things I have done so far today
1. woke up and was actually able to breath thru my nose!!
2. slept til the sun was up-thanx Joshy
3. cleaned my upstairs bathroom
4. straightened my scrap room-still a MESS
5. found the missing paperwork from the generator we couldn't find in a place it surely did NOT belong.
6. laundry-always always doing laundry. it will never ever be finished
7. hung photos that have been screaming to be hung for WEEKS
8. changed the battery in the Thomas clock that I made for Joshy's room and hung it up(does that count as two things-lol).
9. changed sheets on all beds
10. sent some thank you emails
Wow, it isn't even 12:30 yet. lol.
Off to accomplish more like emptying the dishwasher. NOT one of my favorite chores at all. Heck, who am I lying to........there are NO good chores. I'd give em all up if I possibly could.

finally
Well, even as a first time mom, this mom KNOWS her kid......
I KNEW that he didnt' feel well and I KNEW he had an ear infection. I guess I should never second guess myself.
Poor lil guy did indeed have one in his right ear(the one he said HURT) and is on his way to a second one. He is finally sleeping after two long hours at the pediatrician's office and his first round of amoxiclav.
Here's hoping he is on the mend.
Got a great phonecall today from Justin at Chatterbox. They are making a fabulous donation for the MS CROP FOR HOPE.
I am really getting xcited. Can't see my diningroom table. Gotta find somewhere to store donations-soon.
Off to try to relax. It was a LONG day.
Nite Nite.

Happy Monday, oh yeah it is Tuesday........
I luv having holidays, but they seriously screw up my "calendar".
Memorial Day here was NOT the best day for us. John is now sick with whatever it is that we all have and Aunt Sue too.
Joshy was an absolute BEAR yesterday and not feeling any better. So, back to the Pediatrician we go this afternoon. His dr. isn't in, but at this point I will see anyone with MD after his name and hope for the best and a prescription for something that is gonna make this lil guy feel better. It is heartwrenching hearing him TRY to breathe, esp. at night.
Today is my first official day of "vacation". No school, no workshops, woo hoo.
I have such good intentions of getting things accomplished this summer. We shall see.
The donation letters are going out for the MS Crop for Hope in Sept. and I am receiving lots of feedback from people sending donations.
Now, to fill the crop with people. lol.
Okay, off to try to take a shower. Have a great Tuesday that feels like a Monday.

not MY kid
Happy Memorial Day!!
I was awakened at 6:23 AM by coughing and whining. Gotta luv it. Lil man is still sick and now refusing to take his meds cause they are "icky". YEAH.
He isn't any worse, but sure no better either with the exception of pink eye. That looks to be about gone but we are still fighting over the eye drops.
For those of you who know .........you could NOT pay me enough money to eat a canned PEA. I mean that sincerely. Notta one.
What does MY child want for bkfst? PEAS. He proceeded to eat an ENTIRE can of them. Refused the yogurt, toast and every other thing I offered him so that I wouldn't have to touch those things......
Oh is my father laughing his ass off.

OH MY GOSH!!
What an awesome day we had today!! I started going thru scrap stuff and trying to organize. A MUCH greater task than just one day will allow, but I am making progress.
Got to the point where we all needed to get outta the house-runny noses and all. So we went over the bridge to St. Pete.......and Joshy fell asleep so John encouraged me to go to the new Whim-So-Doodle. OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!! That place took my breath away-literally. The store is fabulous.
Then we went downtown to the Pier and walked around a bit-just long enough to replace my Snoopy riding a Harley statue that was decapitated last week accidently.
Had dinner with John's family and stopped over Aunt Sue's on the way home. My step mom brought me THREE huge bags of donations for the MS CROP FOR HOPE. We are surely going to have some awesome baskets this year. WOW.
All in all a REALLY beautiful day. I LUV my purchases from the new Doodle. Now, to have the time to scrap-ha.

Thankful
after reading some of my posts, it sounds like I might have the potential to NOT convey just how truly happy I am.
So, here ya go, some things that I am sooooo very thankful for!!
1-waking up this morning(although at 6am,) I woke up
2-nothing is tingling and all body parts are in working order
3-SCHOOL IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cums and report cards are DONE til next year
4-all our bills are paid
5-the lawyer received ALLLLLLL paperwork back signed and will be filing in court next week-only took 3.5 years but it looks like it might actually be DONE sooner than later
6-if #5 does come true, then I will be receiving a "nice" check soon
7-if #5 comes true as planned, then I will be receiving my father's diamond ring that I designed for him when I was in high school on my 40th birthday in June. Kind of ironic that he is giving me such a special gift on such a special day.
8-now I am getting weepy about Daddy, so I will make this one that I am thankful to have had such an amazing daddy for as long as I did and the relationship that we had
9-even more thankful that he never suffered at the end
10-my wonderful(okay most of them are wonderful) family. their support is incredible
11-my friends-again, couldn't do what i do without them
12-the ability to share my story about MS and help raise awareness for this insidious disease
13-John's new job
14-scrappin again
and numerous other things that no one would read.
Hugs to ya'll.

update on my lil guy
So the pediatrician called back yesterday-a FULL 24 hours after I had called. That did NOT make me happy as you read yesterday.
She didn't seem to think that he needed to be seen-yet, but to watch him.
We also figured out that MY child(oh what a true TINSKY he is), has an adverse reaction to cold meds.
Where most kids get a bit dopey from them, Joshua Daniel literally gets WIRED.... full fledged bouncing off the literal walls the other evening til 11pm.
So, off to CVS I went last night. Try to find cold meds with NO antihistamine in them. That was not such an easy task, but after 30 minutes of reading each and every label.....success. Even better, he fell asleep(passed out) before 9am.
However, now I have a tickle in my throat. For those of you who know, having MS means that I have a compromised immune system and I have difficulty fighting infections. So, I can probably count on feeling crappy anytime now-ugh. I am sucking down echinachea and daytime cold meds. Fingers crossed.
Have a gr-8 Saturday.

Sick kiddo
I did forget to add that in the middle of report card hell week, also came JOSHY is sicker than he has ever been week. URGGG.
Pediatrician said he had pink eye in the left eye on Weds. Of course, it is now in the right too. My lil guy who never complains has been whiny, cranky and telling me "it hurts" all week :(
sooo sad.
To top it off, he is DEF. one of the few who gets TOTALLY wired on cold meds. Lethargy for a day wouldn't be a bad thing, right? Not MY kid. Oy .
His ears were clear and now they "hurt". Try to get the drs office to call back, yeah right. I am NOT a happy Mommy right now and it breaks my heart. He looks and sounds just awful.
I am not an advocate of anti-biotics and thankfully he only has been on them after the dog bite and visit to the ER, but this kid needs something more than OTC cold meds.
And, I NEED A NAP!!
Only on a holiday weekend, right. HA.
Jackie
who is off to call the pediatricians office AGAIN.

what a week!!
The last week of school is always busy and crazy, but this one takes the cake!! After 17 years, I do not think I have ever had such "issues".
This county has gone completely computerized for our report cards, which most people would think is great.......I would, however, disagree 100%. I am far from computer illiterate, but this was HORRIBLE. I was in report card hell for the entire week. OMG. First off, we have 3 teachers grades to input for one class. PITA by itself.......but then go to print them and the entire third nine weeks grades are GONE. Kaput......cyber space who knows where. Now, I am all for technology, but there is no hard copy anywhere. AHHHHHHHHH.
After much stress and flipping out, it is all said and done and filed away, packed away or thrown away til the beginning of school next year. Can you say, WOO HOO. I sure can.
Sighs...........I will miss my kiddos though. My FCAT scores were as expected, but the BEST end of the year gift was a cutie pie blondie who began the year by saying "I HATE reading" to his reading and writing teacher-me.......and ended the year yesterday by announcing "I LUV reading" scoring a 4 on FCAT reading and nearly a 6th grade reading level on SuccessMaker.
That made it all worth while!! (thanx Hunter) He is truly one I will never forget.
Happy Friday,
Jackie

TIME
This whole thing is going to be about TIME........
First of all, it goes wayyyyyyyy too fast!!!! My precious little 6lb 3 oz tiny baby is two and one half years old today. How is that even possible????????
My father is gone nearly 3.5 years. That is even less possible.
I have been diagnosed with R-R Multiple Sclerosis for over two years. Luckily, in remission for almost two years.(and hoping and praying that it stays that way).
On Rebif for two years on 6-5-07.
One month from today I am going to be FORTY years old. Now, I know in my heart, that age is a state of mind, but growing up, 40 was OLD. Heck, I was at my mother's 30th birthday party(I was like 8 years old) and I remember thinking how OLD 30 was.
Okay, back to time. Could someone possibly tell my son(although precious and still adorable) that this mommy does NOT want to wake up at 6:15 am when I don't have to be at school until 11:19 am??????????
So to sum it up, time goes by too quickly and there is just never enough of it.
Hope that everyone has an enjoyable day and finds the time to do something special for THEMSELVES.

ahhh Monday
Well, I can tell you honestly, I had one MAJOR busy weekend!! I am exhausted still and could easily go to bed and crash right this moment and it isn't even 9pm!!
The block party was fabulous. Rich went above and beyond with the raffle and prize donations. We inherited an electronic basketball game that is about 7 ft tall and in the middle of my living room. What the hell to do with it, I have NOOOOOOOO idea. John won a tackle box filled to the brim with fishing stuff. He was a happy camper. Aunt Sue won an adorable kid-sized picnic table that is now on our patio and the list goes on.
The waterslide inflatable was a HUGE success with all the neighborhood kids. They had a blast. Joshy was NON stop for 14 hours that day til he literally collapsed. LOL. One happy lil water-logged guy.
Yesterday was the perfect Florida day. Amazing breeze at a beach that we discovered in Tarpon. My back in flaming red and I am thrilled to have unhooked my bra-lol. John got to do some fishing and Joshy, Aunt Sue and I played in the sand and the water. It was unreal. The water was crystal clear and the breeze made it soooooo nice, didn't even break a sweat.
Today was a bit more stressful.......the last few days of school always are. I have report cards to get done and boxes to finish packing. I am trying NOT to get stressed over it all, but that is my nature. Only 2.5 more days. I am really going to miss this group of kiddos. They have been a whole lot of fun. The 5th grade teachers are going to luv them next year.
Okay, time to give one adorable blondie a bath and then off to bed for both of us.
Night Night to all.

It's all good........
So, John started his new job yesterday. Yes, he drove almost two hours to Maitland to start on a Friday.....silly, I know. But his supervisor lives/works in Virginia and I am guessing that yesterday was the only day he could fly in. So, it went REALLY well. He was a nervous wreck-so many questions. I know how he feels. I get that way before school starts each year. Even though school is school, each year is a new beginning. Same for him. He knows the nursing home industry inside out. Even though they are new homes, new company, and same stuff, it is all new. He will be getting his own laptop and a work cell phone too. PLEASE tell me(SOMEONE/ANYONE) how on earth to get him to keep track of TWO phones-LOL?!
I got an email from the drug rep for my MS drug. I have been "trying" for almost a year to become an Ambassador for the company. Ambassadors get paid to be at local events to share their stories and info with regards to the meds we take. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share my story and let others see that I work/function etc. However, the program has been halted for awhile. Nice of George to keep sending emails to update. I guess he knows the passion I have for this.
In the meantime, Doris, from the NMSS has a new "project" for me. So, I guess I will utilize my time off this summer-in between some workshops for school, to do some worthy volunteer work for an organization that is so close to me.
I am also busy working on the MS CROP FOR HOPE. Got a few more donations this week-several yesterday alone. Surprising that some of the MAJOR places that donated last year are not contributing this year. Piss on Red Lobster...........guess I don't really need their $15 gift certificate, but c'mon. In the broad spectrum of things, what is $15 going to do to hurt Dardin Rest. Corp? However, I am pretty strong willed as most of you know(ha ha) and I will NOT be eating at Red.........
I tend to frequent the establishments that sponsor me. KWIM?
Hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday. I am going to put away some laundry while I can-lil man is watching Thomas downstairs with his daddy. Then we need to go set up for the Community Block Party.
I got an email from the drug rep for my MS drug. I have been "trying" for almost a year to become an Ambassador for the company. Ambassadors get paid to be at local events to share their stories and info with regards to the meds we take. Finally Friday
While most kiddos live for summer vacation, I can tell you that after 17 years in the classroom, this last week of school is TOTAL h**l!!
My classroom presently looks as if a bomb went off. John always says, "you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette". If that is the case, then the whole freakin' hen house blew up in Room 502 at my school.
Forget pitching, packing, sorting, and making piles(I found stuff with the name I went by two husbands ago and 17 years old in my piles of crap-tossed that stuff, Helen would be soooooo proud).
Hoping to get my grades done today and entered into the computer before the end of the day. I must be dreaming. I don't like doing report cards on the puter cause I hafta sit in front of the dang thing in my room. Bringing home a folder of them in the ole' days was soooo much more time efficient for me. Guess I am "old school."
We have a big Kick Off the Summer block party here tomorrow and it looks as if the weather and smoke are going to cooperate. One of the neighbors donated a BUNCH of awesome raffle prizes(the guy who did all the liquor ones for my Crop For Hope last year, Rich). He even said he had a tv/dvd combo.
The kids will all have fun with inflatables and water slides.
Off to go get ready for school. Hope everyone has a Happy Friday.

Scrappin Jackie Here!!
Hi All~
So I decided to FINALLY accept the fact that at nearly age 40(4 weeks and 5 days away) that I must actually come into the computer age and start BLOGGING.
Not 100% certain how to do this, but I will give it a try.
Tonite was a rare opportunity for us. John and I actually got a sitter(THANX a million Chelle) and we went out to dinner at Sam Seltzer's to have grown up conversation that didn't revolve around a cute, lil blonde kiddo-hmm, who could that possibly be-lol. Lobster tail was yummy, but prime rib was soooo full of pepper I could barely eat it. Oh well. We were actually celebrating the new job that he will begin tomorrow. Say a prayer that it all goes well for him. NO ONE deserves this more than John does. We also spent some time planning my 40th b-day celebration. Anyone that knows me knows how much I do NOT like surprises, so it will be a low-key dinner with just family. Perfect for me-surrounded by those I luv the most.
Things for the MS Crop for Hope are starting to fall into place. I am receiving donations left and right. Gotta get more croppers signed up and work on themes for the baskets. REALLY hoping to get some reps to teach classes. Making a mental note to get on that. Anyone interested?? LMK.
Okay, I am beat, so off to bed. Happy Scrappin!!
